School of Foreign Languages (SFL) was under the name, Department of Foreign Languages founded in 1993. In April 2001, the name was changed to Faculty of Humanities and Law(FHL）. In March 2003 the name was changed to Faculty of Foreign Studies（FFS）. And it was named now as School of Foreign Languages(SFL) in 2020. The SFL is composed of seven departments: English for non-English majors, English for graduates, English for English majors, Japanese for Japanese majors, International Chinese Education(TCSOL), Rare foreign languages and Foreign Teachers. It also has following seven research platforms: Center for Pakistan Study，Center for German Studies，Center for Russian Studies，Research Center of Applied Translation, Research Center of Overseas Chinese Education, Research Center of Japanese Culture and Research Center of Wang-Yangming Culture.
