This newsletter reports that to broaden students' international perspectives and foster a rich campus cultural atmosphere, on the afternoon of November 11, our college grandly held the "Roaming the Little 'Language' Universe" Multilingual Cultural Festival at the Cultural Square of the Hongqi Campus. This cultural festival was hosted by our college and organized by the German Center, Russian Center, Minor Language Teaching and Research Office, and our college's Youth League Committee of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology. The event meticulously set up cultural booths for nine countries—China, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Russia, Spain, South Korea, Japan, and Pakistan—and incorporated a rich variety of artistic performances, bringing an immersive global cultural experience to all faculty and students .

At the event, the distinctive national booths became vivid windows for students to perceive world cultures. Each booth was designed with a stamp-collecting mechanism, where students could exchange for unique souvenirs after completing tasks such as language challenges, handicraft making, and knowledge quizzes. At the Pakistan booth, basic Urdu language instruction and intricate, complex hand-painting attracted a large number of students to stop and experience, with a rich South Asian charm coming to life at their fingertips; the English booth transformed into a "language playground," where participants enjoyed themselves in tongue-twister speed competitions and Anglo-American slang guessing games, with American cowboy hats and Harry Potter decorations becoming popular photo spots; the Japanese booth skillfully blended cultural knowledge with fun interactions, from classic anime line quizzes to Japanese-Chinese character translation, and then to the tasting of taiyaki and dorayaki, allowing people to fully appreciate the unique charm of Japanese culture; the Spanish booth concluded with a stunning passionate flamenco dance, accompanied by authentic Tapas snacks and Spanish knowledge quizzes, igniting the entire venue with a fiery Iberian passion...

The song and dance performance segment was also splendid, serving as a dynamic bridge connecting the cultures of various countries. A heartfelt English song performance and a powerful display of traditional Chinese nunchaku were staged one after another, not only showcasing the artistic flair of diverse cultures but also earning bursts of applause from the live audience and continuously pushing the event's atmosphere to a climax .

"So that's how you say 'thank you' in Urdu!" "Is Disney's 'Snow White' castle based on Germany's Neuschwanstein Castle?" Shutting between the various booths, students held "cultural passports," learning while playing, and building cross-cultural understanding through experience. This "learning by doing, gaining through fun" model effectively stimulated students' enthusiasm for active exploration and positive communication, achieving a dual enhancement of linguistic competence and cultural literacy .

The successful hosting of this Multilingual Cultural Festival is a successful practice for our college in building an international educational platform, cultivating students' cross-cultural literacy, and deepening the concept of "nurturing people through culture." With language learning as the foundation and cultural experience as the path, the event effectively stimulated students' interest in learning and spirit of exploration, sowing the seeds of mutual learning among civilizations in a diverse and symbiotic campus atmosphere, and laying a solid foundation for cultivating high-quality talents with an international vision and a sense of national pride.
