From April 19th to 26th, the first Russian Culture Week at our university, organized by the School of Foreign Languages and the Russian Center, was successfully held in the Sanjiang Campus and Hongqi Campus of JXUST. The culture week featured five major activities: an opening ceremony, matryoshka painting and worry-free bazaar, Russian culture exhibition, film screenings, and a closing ceremony. Distinguished guests from China and abroad, including Dean Liu Chengsheng, Vice Dean Li Huoxiu, Deputy Secretary He Xiting, Russian foreign teachers Betukhov and Kobetov, and Ukrainian experts Nikolay Filippov and Yelena Ivanova and her husband, participated in the cultural week activities.

The culture week commenced with an opening ceremony in the multi-function hall on the first floor of the San Shi Building in the Sanjiang Campus. Students from our college and the Sino-Russian program class of Electronic Science and Technology in the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation showcased a variety of performances including dance and song. The opening ceremony also included Russian cultural knowledge quizzes, Russian food tasting, and live Russian language teaching, creating a lively atmosphere.

Interesting activities such as matryoshka painting and the worry-free bazaar were held at the Cultural Plaza in Hongqi Campus and the entrance of the East Canteen in Sanjiang Campus. Students actively participated in the matryoshka painting, creating figures with exquisite patterns and bright colors. Meanwhile, the worry-free bazaar was also in full swing. Through engaging games like knowledge quizzes, Russian imitation, and block puzzles, participants could exchange for stickers, ornaments, and egg pendants, all imbued with Russian flair, and share joy with every participant through a barter system.

A Russian culture film screening event was held in the lecture hall of the library in Hongqi Campus. The featured Russian film "On - drakon" told a story of deep friendship between a dragon and a human. Students who attended the screening gained a deeper understanding of Russian culture.

The culture week also featured a photo exhibition on the themes of Russian national landscapes, handicrafts, and folk crafts in the Yuedao Building and Wenshan Building in Sanjiang Campus, as well as the main teaching building and the second teaching building in Hongqi Campus. The exhibition ran throughout the culture week, creating a rich atmosphere for the other activities.

The closing ceremony of the culture week took place in the auditorium in Hongqi Campus. Students from our college and the Sino-Russian program class presented a variety of exciting performances, including dance, zheng, and Russian choir. Games like Russian telephone and charades brought the atmosphere to a climax. The culture week concluded amidst the exchange and mutual learning of Chinese and foreign cultures.

It is reported that the Russian Culture Week special event was held for the first time in our university, with the opening and closing ceremonies attracting nearly 400 participants, and the exhibitions and interactive activities drawing a larger number of faculty and students. This event not only allowed everyone to better understand Russian language and countries, and to feel the unique charm of Russian culture, but also added color and vitality to the campus cultural life of students, broadened their horizons, and improved their cross-cultural communication skills. It will also surely arouse new enthusiasm of Russian language learners to improve their Russian language level and develop their international vision; attract more students of JXUST to pay attention to the cooperation between Chinese and Russian universities, participate in Chinese and Russian humanistic exchanges, and join the Chinese and Russian educational programs.
