On December 16th, the high-end academic forum on “A Hundred Years of Changes and Research on China-Pakistan Relations” was held in Sanjiang campus, JXUST. The forum was sponsored by Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, hosted by Pakistan Study Center, and School of Foreign Languages(SFL), with Jiangxi Provincial People's Association for Foreign Friendship as the supporting unit. The forum focused on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, China-Pakistan language, culture and education, China-Pakistan non-ferrous metal cooperation, China-Pakistan economy and trade, and hot issues related to Pakistan.

Prof Dr Wen Herui, President of JXUST, delivered a warm welcome speech. Dr Zafar Uddin Mahmood, special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Prof Dr Luo Lin, Director of the National and Regional Research Secretariat of Universities of the Ministry of Education, and Prof Tu Anbo, Vice President of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Association for Foreign Friendship, delivered speeches respectively. Prof Deng Xiaoyu, Dean of SFL and Director of DIEC presided over the opening ceremony.

Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali, Director of Investment Committee of the Prime Minister's Office of Pakistan, Mr Luo Jianxue, President of the Overseas Chinese Federation of Lahore, Pakistan, Prof Dr  Mehboob Hussein, Director of the Center for History and Pakistan Studies of the University of Punjab, Dr. Ma Zhiwei, Deputy Director of the Liaoyuan Institute of South Asia, Pakistan China-Pakistan Education and Cultural Center, Prof Liu Chensheng, Chairperson of SFL, attended the opening ceremony and delivered their keynote speechs.

The purpose of this meeting aims to better serve the national “Belt and Road” initiatives, deepen exchanges and cooperation between China and Pakistan, and promote the high-quality development of China-Pakistan relations. There are more than 200 teachers and students observed the conference throughout the process.
