A Research Seminar:Does it still need to study on the “Iron Pakistan”?

  On October 20th, 2022,the School of Foreign Languages(SFL) held a seminar on “Does the ‘Iron Pakistan’ still need to be studied?" in the hybrid forms of online and offline in Room C402,FL building. Dr Luo Lin,Changjiang Scholar,Director of the National and Regional Research Secretariat,MoE,Professor of Beijing Languages University,was invited as the keynote speaker. Prof Dr Luo Xianping,Vice President JXUST, Prof Dr Tang Yunzhi,Director of the Science and Technology Department, Prof Liu Chensheng, Chairperson of SFL, Prof Deng Xiaoyu, Dean of SFL, Ms Ji Mingming, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department, Assit Prof Cheng Yuan, deputy dean of SFL, and more than 500 teachers and students participated in the seminar. Which was hosted by Li Huoxiu, Director of the Pakistan Research Center.

  In the keynote speech, Luo Lin interpreted the concept,connotation and interdisciplinary characteristics of national and regional research disciplines. He explained the inspiration and reference significance of U.S. regional and country research as a example. As for the methodology he appealed for the focus on the “five keys”, grasped the “three urgent needs”, and achieved the “five persistence”. He also proposed for the construction of knowledge systems, the improvement of think tank capabilities, and the construction of core teams.

  During the conclusion phase, Luo Xianping expressed his high appreciation for the profound, forward-looking and enlightening content of the keynote speech, and expressed his expectations for the better development of the Pakistan Research Center in the future. At the same time, he also puts forward the requirements for the transformation and development of foreign language disciplines.
