In accordance with an announcement released by the Ministry of Science and Technology, a research project of JXUST, Research and Application Demonstration of Network Collaborative Manufacturing Integration Technology for Ion-adsorption Rare Earths Industry , won a fund of 31.33 million RMB Yuan (Grant No. 2020YFB1713700 ).
Ion-adsorbed rare earth (RE) ore, also known as weathered crust infiltration RE ore, is a unique type of RE ore found in China. It is mainly absorbed on clay type ore (i.e. kaolin clay, illite) in the form of hydrated cations and can release RE cations via the chemical and biological process.
The investigation of the project is conducive to the efficient and green manufacturing of ion-adsorption rare earths, thus upgrading the economic transformation of Ganzhou, which is reputed to be the “rare earth kingdom”.
