On the morning of April 11, Mr. Mohamed Jamal Deen, president of Canadian Royal Society’s Science Academy visited Ganzhou Campus of JXUST. Professor Wen Herui, vice president of JXUST met with the Canadian guest. Wen Herui briefly introduced the research projects and achievements accomplished by the faculty of JXUST. Both parties held discussions on research cooperation and faculty training. After the meeting, Mr. Deen delivered an academic lecture on the topic of Smart Sensors for the Grand Challenge in Healthcare. Mohamed Jamal Deen is an Indo-Guyanese person who is a Professor and Senior Canada Research Chair in Information Technology at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He is also the Director of the Micro- and Nano-Systems Laboratory. His research specialty are in the broad areas of electrical engineering and applied physics. Deen has published extensively on microelectronics/nanoelectronics and optoelectronics including works on the noise in electronic devices. As stated by McMaster University on "Faces of Innovation", Jamal Deen is generally regarded as "A leading expert in modeling, design and applications of modern advanced semiconductor devices and circuits". Deen has been honoured many times by his peers through his election to the highest status in professional societies and national academies.
