On the morning of October 24th, the unveiling ceremony of the Overseas Red China Image Research Center of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology was held in C411 of the School of Foreign Languages. Huang Zhifang, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the university, and Wang Xiaoyuan, Director of Social Science Department, attended the meeting. Xiao Guifang, secretary of the Party Committee of our college, Li Huoxiu, associate dean, Liu Shaochen, assistant dean, Zeng Fanjian, head of the Overseas Red China Image Research Center, and representatives of the center's teachers and students attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Li Huoxiu.

      At the beginning of the meeting, Xiao Guifang, Secretary of the Party Committee of our college, delivered a welcome speech. She expressed her heartfelt thanks to the leaders for their presence and said that the team of Overseas Red China Image Research Center has achieved fruitful results with the support and help of the university and the college, and asked the team to work hard and not to give up until the goal is reached. After that, Dr. Li Jia from the Center introduced the basic situation of the Center and the recent work of “two articles + three meetings + four promotions”. Then, Prof. Zeng Fanjian, the head of the center, expressed his gratitude to the university and its leaders and his outlook on the follow-up work. He put forward four requirements: first, the ability to skillfully use new media; second, the ability to analyze big data; third, the ability to skillfully use AI; and fourth, the ability to analyze discourse. He also explained the relevant advantages of the college and proposed that the college would strive to realize the interdisciplinary development of “foreign language + non-ferrous metals” and the combination of metallurgical culture and foreign language culture.

      Afterwards, Wang Xiaoyuan, Director of Social Science Department, suggested that the Overseas Red China Image Research Center has three good points: good form, good atmosphere, and good prospect, and he hoped that the team could give full play to the relevant advantages. He also put forward three suggestions: first is to make good use of relevant policies; the second is to make good use of talents, and the third is to make good use of funds. Subsequently, Huang Zhifang, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of the university, expressed his heartfelt congratulations on the fruitful achievements of the center. He believed that each college is the key to what makes a university good, and he hoped to make mining and metallurgy connected with literature, and use literature to show mining and metallurgy culture. He put forward four suggestions: first, to clarify the direction of research and strengthen the excavation of overseas red culture; second, to achieve differentiated development and give full play to the role of the Pakistan Research Center; third, to focus on the power of young people, strengthen the organizational construction, and form an organized scientific research; fourth, to pay attention to the ideological issues, to speak out for China, and to make cultural support for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Then, our assistant dean Li Huoxiu made a summary and thanked the leaders for their support of our work, emphasized the need to achieve teaching to develop the college, science to strengthen the college, and to achieve the transition from traditional teaching to teaching and research. Finally, Vice President Huang Zhifan and Professor Zeng Fanjian jointly unveiled the plaque for the “Overseas Red China Image Research Center”, and the participants took a group photo together.

       After the meeting, the members of the meeting visited the workshop of the Overseas Red China Image Research Center and the exhibition hall of the Pakistan Research Center.

      The unveiling is an important step for our college to take the transformation, which is conducive to the subsequent breakthrough of the development bottleneck and promotes the college to keep pace with the times.
